There will be a football meeting for any 8th grade student wanting to play high school football on Tuesday, January 28th immediately after school with both the player and parent in the Commons. The meeting will start at 3:05 and will be approximately a half hour.
Coach Maddie will meet with students interested in joining the Jr. High track team during lunch on Wednesday, January 29. Bring your lunch to the Media Center next Wednesday.
Congratulations to our 7th and 8th grade Power of the Pen teams! This past weekend they competed against 13 other Cincinnati schools at Saint Bernard High School. Our 7th and 8th grade teams both earned first place for team awards. For individual award winners, Caroline Bybee earned a 3rd place medal and Cody Ching came in 2nd place for 7th grade. In 8th grade, Teagan Love won 12th place, Avery Gibson 8th, Corinne Cline 6th and Claire Goulait won FIRST place. All of these writers will move on to regionals on February 22nd at Cincinnati Country Day School! Congrats to all!

Attention 8th graders: Our first Project LIT book club will meet this Friday at lunch in Mrs. Jordan's room! All 8th graders are welcome!
Stock Club
We are pleased to announce the 7th annual MJHS Stock Market Game (SMG), led by Jeremy Gates, a certified financial planner with Fifth Third Securities. Mr. Gates is a Kiwanis member, and has been in the investment industry for 20 years. This two month challenge involves students working in teams researching and trading stocks through the stockmarketgame.org and the University of Cincinnati. Each team begins with $100,000 (virtual dollars) to build their portfolio. SMG meetings will take place on Tuesdays during 7th and 8th grade lunch periods. Sign-ups will take place today through Friday, January 24 in Social Studies classes. The first meeting will be Tuesday, February 4th.
