Stock Market Games
We are pleased to announce the 7th annual MJHS Stock Market Game (SMG), led by Jeremy Gates, a certified financial planner with Fifth Third Securities. Mr. Gates is a Kiwanis member, and has been in the investment industry for 20 years. This two month challenge involves students working in teams researching and trading stocks through the stockmarketgame.org and the University of Cincinnati. Each team begins with $100,000 (virtual dollars) to build their portfolio. SMG meetings will take place on Tuesdays during 7th and 8th grade lunch periods. Sign-ups will take place today through Friday, January 24 in Social Studies classes. The first meeting will be Tuesday, February 4th.
There will be a football meeting for any 8th grade student wanting to play high school football tomorrow immediately after school with both the player and parent in the Commons. The meeting will start at 3:05 and will be approximately a half hour.
Coach Maddie will meet with students interested in joining the Jr. High track team during lunch on Wednesday, January 29. Bring your lunch to the Media Center this Wednesday.
