Mariemont High School musicians competed at the Ohio Music Educators Association District 14 Solo and Ensemble competition in January, earning over 30 Superior and Excellent Ratings. Students in band, chorus and orchestra all worked to learn solo performances and/or small group ensembles during and outside of class, learned to play with piano accompaniment and performed in front of a judging panel for comments and a rating.
In addition to earning two superior ratings in the competition, freshman Claire Long recently auditioned for, and was accepted into, the Cincinnati Youth Choir. CYC is the city’s premier youth choir that rehearses weekly and performs all over the city, country and world.
Congratulations to all of these talented musicians!
