Third Quarter School-Wide Book
Let the Children March! By Monica Clark-Robinson Illustrated by Frank Morrison- In addition to our monthly Kindness Themes we also have a school-wide book each quarter that will be read aloud in each classroom that not only supports our monthly Kindness Themes but also reinforces ways to create safe learning spaces and environments where our student's stories are not only recognized but honored, celebrated and loved!
Review of the Book: This book is a great story to empower children and let them know they, too, can play a role in making the world a better place! This resolute and lyrical text marches us through a critical time (Children’s Crusade of 1963) and showcases the importance of community. The first-person narration lets readers experience the children’s perspective in the midst of a life-changing event. The illustrations are gorgeous, filled with emotion, and provide interesting viewpoints.
