Mariemont Athletics Postseason Roundup: March 3, 2021

Similar to the fall season, Mariemont High School athletics teams continue their success in the winter sports postseason. Check out this update for each team competing in the winter season.
 
Boys Basketball
The Warriors kept their postseason alive with an incredible come-from-behind victory over CHCA in the district semifinal game, winning 55-52 after trailing by as many as 23 late in the third quarter. The team will play in for a district title on Saturday, March 6 vs. Versailles at 2 p.m. at Northmont High School.
 
Will Trubisky earned a First Team All-CHL selection, Second Team All-District 16 nod and will represent Mariemont in the Ohio North/South All-Star game. Jon-Michael Senes, Ethan Malafa and Tim Stewart are Second Team All-CHL while Jack Borgerding and Andrew Glassmeyer were named to the honorable mention team. Additionally, assistant coach Eric Ernst was named the District 16 Assistant Coach of the Year.
 
Girls Basketball
The girls basketball team ended the season as the district runner up and co-champions of the Cincinnati Hills League (CHL) with a 17-6 record. Kendall Spreen and Marley Valentine were named First Team All-CHL while Erika Dewey was Second Team and Anazia Robertson and Addison Kaiser earned honorable mention accolades.
 
Bowling
The bowling Warriors were represented at the District Championships as Zamir Thompson earned a spot to compete. He was named Second Team All-CHL while teammate Sammy Henkel was First Team All-CHL and Zach Dutro earned an honorable mention award.
 
Swimming
The swimming team had 12 athletes advance to the state competition, including Nathan Cox who finished seventh in the diving competition and Jacquelyn Young who earned an eighth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
 
Others placing at the state meet were Ava Ellis, Lydia Eberlein, Aida Thoman, Grace Bohl, Kiersten Souders, Phillip Forbes, Will Fahnestock, Jonah Mikesell, Daniel Cooper and Jack Cumming.
