Parent Input Important as District Plans for New School Year

In just a few days the 2019-2020 school year will come to a close.  And as this unique chapter in the history of our school district comes to an end, attention will quickly shift to the upcoming year and how we will reopen our schools in the fall.

At this time, there are many unknowns as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and guidance from the Center for Disease Control, Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Health adjusts and changes as health professionals and experts learn more about necessary social distancing measures and preventative strategies.  In the coming weeks, I expect guidance and orders will be issued for school districts in the state and we will need to be prepared to adhere to these to protect the safety of our students and staff.

The district’s Academic Recovery and Reopening Taskforce has been working through different scenarios knowing that, regardless of the guidance we are given, the start of the school year will likely not be normal. We are in the process of developing a three tier model for a safe reopening, appropriate academic recovery for students and continued operating procedures throughout the duration of the 2020-2021 school year.  Each tier is responsive to different levels of required social distancing and orders that may be required for school districts to implement.

As we await final guidance and continue to develop each tier, your feedback and input is important.  Below you will find a link to a survey that you are invited to complete.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we navigate these challenging times.
